A little history…
High Tea is a Classic afternoon tea offered in the British colonies and best enjoyed in the Heritage setting of a Colonial building. Ravensthorpe is an 1893 Colonial Georgian Manor House and the ideal setting for the ritual of High Tea.
The Duchess of Bedford (1788) felt faint in the afternoons whilst awaiting dinner, so called for the maids to deliver refreshments to be served to her lady friends on the HIGH dining table. So popular was the idea, the tradition of inviting friends to High Tea was born.
